Part I & II

instrumental

At Sea

Kingdom Brunel...
You should have seen that your dream
of that iron giant would turn into a nightmare

The curse of the dead riveters

Fought so hard - this English engineer called Isambard
    But ill-fated was his dream
From the start disaster took its course until it took his heart
Knocked him down with a stroke

Take us home - our lost souls
A resting-place for our bones
        Superstition made its way
Rest in peace in our iron grave
        Out of heads into reality
Every day washed round by waves
The curse of the dead riveters
Here´s to you! Let´s raise a glass
        Victims while they built up
We were the ones who did their best
A ship which turned into a grave
If you meet us out at sea
Forgotten while they fixed the plates
Don´t be afraid, don´t  have to flee
        A nightmare being buried alive
Tell my wife I´m coming home
But no one listened to their cries
There´s no need to feel alone
        Imprisoned in the double hull
I´m with her every single day
They couldn´t get through the wall
And my love won´t go away
Their bodies sailed across the sea
Go to hell, damned Isambard!
        Their desperate voices - eternally
You should have known it from the start
The fateful giant on its way
This ship would ruin many lifes
The echo is still heard today
Leave behind black widowed wifes
The echo is still heard today
A curse upon you, damned Brunel
The echo is still heard today
Think of me , we´ll meet in hell!

Silence is the only sound

1. Silence is the only sound
That is heard all around the ghost ship
    Lying in it´s grave
Once it was the pride of men
Who gave their wealth - were ruined then
They couldn´t make a fortune with their dream

Bridge: No more will it cross the sea
              Or transport troops, bring misery
To men who work their fingers to the bones
Not much is left now besides these songs...

2. Yes, it was an ambitious plan
    Which failed because of circumstances
Dear Isambard, you could not foresee
But I do take off my hat
To you, Brunel, and don´t be sad
The time was not yet ripe for such a ship

Bridge: Yes, you were a pioneer
Took a risk and had no fear
Of tackling problems - you were really strong
Not much is left now besides these songs...

Silence (...silence) ... is the only sound...
